Kenny Norton

Poet. Writer.

In my poems and short stories, I write about the South, but not just as a place. I write about the past we carry with us, the people that shape us, and the ones we wish we knew better. I like narrative, rhythm, character and plain-spoken language.

A former English teacher, I have been writing business communication, marketing copy, theatre reviews and feature articles. At one time I thought I would end up as a songwriter. All of these experiences find their way into my poems and stories.

My writing explores the things we inherit, both known and unknown, and the heritage we let slip away. Most of all, I want to uncover the complications that are hidden inside our legacies.

As a writer, I want to tell a good story, finding the truth that makes it worth telling.

My poetry writing has been featured in Inkhorn Review and prose writing in ARTS ATL and Encore Atlanta among others.
